Law on integral crypto-assets system will be debated in the ANC’s Commission for Economy

The law on the integral system of crypto-assets, proposed by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, will be debated in the Commission of Productive Economy of the National Constituent Assembly, starting this Wednesday.

Constituent Andrés Eloy Méndez, highlighted the importance of this bill so that crypto-assets have a regulatory framework that allows them to be in harmony with the development of the Plan for Recovery, Growth and Economic Prosperity.

“It is strategic, today, in the temporal heart of the measures taken from the program for the protection of the people, to create the legal architecture so that these crypto-assets and related operations have a regulatory framework, which will be in harmony with human development and the Homeland of Bolívar”, he said.

In transmission of ANTV, Méndez said that this law “becomes another weapon to finish defeating the economic war and its metabolisms for domination”, such as the imposition of the dollar.

He pointed out that with this legal instrument, the functions and competence of the Crypto-assets Superintendency and the Crypto-assets Treasury can be established.

He also stressed that with crypto-assets such as the Petro, the hegemony of the dollar for commercial trade begins to break, given that they do not go through the international financial system, and countries such as China, India, Russia and Turkey are already beginning to put this technology at the service of their peoples.

For his part, the president of the ANC, Diosdado Cabello, suggested the Commission of Productive Economy to open spaces for all constituents to discuss the law, as well as to invite related ministers to participate and make proposals.
