The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, led a meeting this Monday with the national leadership of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and the Great Patriotic Pole (GPP), to discuss a list of specific topics, including the Popular Consultation to be held on August 25. Additionally, the governors of 19 states were present, as well as the mayor of Caracas, A/J Carmen Meléndez.
Once he began his speech, the Head of State forcefully declared that “fascism has failed in Venezuela, we have defeated it, but we must consolidate the victory against hatred, lies, manipulation, the dirty campaign that has replaced politics as a human good,” he added. “Poor of anyone who tries to generate a coup d’état,” warned President Maduro.
He also pointed out that “it is impossible to govern a country through hatred, pettiness, and the arrogance of particular interests. Fascism will never prevail in Venezuela!” He continued, “never again an April 11 (*), never again a coup d’état. They have replaced political leadership with influencers,” he said.
“It is clear who has led the attack of hatred and poisoning against Venezuelan society,” he said. He also elaborated that the traditional opposition parties have disappeared and that “now it is the hegemony of a single voice that is imposed by hook or by crook.”
Martyrs of the Revolution:
In an honorable manner, the national leader declared two women as martyrs of the Bolivarian Revolution, among them, the head of the Bolívar and Chávez Battle Unit (UBCH), Mayauri Silva, who was shot dead in Turmero, Aragua state, on August 3; as well as the leader of UBCH, Cirila Isabel Gil, victimized by a knife on August 2 in El Callao, Bolívar state.
Statements by Diosdado Cabello:
For his part, the first vice president of the PSUV, Diosdado Cabello, stated that the meeting would serve to present the “instructions and guidelines necessary for the new stage of the Bolivarian Revolution.” Likewise, for the leader of the red party, these actions are urgent because “the right continues to repeat the same script,” which “is directly linked to violence.” However, he stressed that “the streets belong to us and not to them.”
