Alex Saab: They sought to collapse the Bolivarian Government with sanctions and blockade

In this regard, he pointed out that his political conviction allowed him to maintain his morality and commitment to the Bolivarian Revolution:

There came a point where they wanted me to lie and what they told me very clearly was: there is no more time, we are going to invade. We need you to give some statements and Juan Guaidó is going to ask for a military intervention,” said the Diplomat.

Likewise, he pointed out that they sought to stop the supply of medicines, gasoline and food during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

In this sense, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, acknowledged Saab’s resistance, while ensuring that his diplomatic actions “allowed saving lives and stabilizing Venezuela.”

Our people applauding and thanking all these actions. And many times even without knowing where they came from, because that is an anonymous thing. You were there resisting with your conscience, with your spirituality, and our people here were also resisting,” said the President during the third edition of “Maduro Podcast.”

Venezuelan diplomat Alex Saab was unjustly kidnapped for more than 1,280 days in a US detention center, while he was making arrangements to acquire food, medicines and medical equipment as a special envoy of the Bolivarian Government.
