A new coronavirus case is registered totaling 423 in Venezuela

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reported on Tuesday that has been registered a new case of coronavirus in the country, totaling 423.

“In the last 24 hours, a single positive case of Covid-19 was registered in Venezuela to raise the total number of infections to 423, while the recovery rate stands at 52% by totaling 220 recovered patients, after receiving free treatment”, stated the National President.

From Miraflores Palace, he indicated that the new case was registered in Aragua state, a woman who was infected after failing to comply with the quarantine: “She also becomes a contagion agent of this virus”, he warned, reiterating the need to radicalize the quarantine due to the relaxation experienced by the security measures adopted to keep flattened the contagion curve.

He also assured that without a doubt the country has great achievements in the fight against coronavirus, but added that it is time to tighten the quarantine, and thus he called for a level of greater discipline and awareness to avoid community transmission.

Likewise, he detailed that Venezuela has carried out until this Tuesday 525,000 tests to detect the new coronavirus, which represents 17,530 tests per million inhabitants.

Maduro stressed that this is possible thanks to the agreements and support of nations such as China, Russia and the United Nations System.

“Today a new shipment of humanitarian aid arrived from China, with all the equipment, 40,000 PCR tests, biological protection suits, infrared thermometers, surgical masks, disposable masks, protective lenses, surgical gloves”, explained the head of state.
