FANB called for the study and investigation of the controversy over Essequibo

To those responsible for the training of the cadets of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, instructed to disseminate study material on the stages of the controversy over Guayana Esequiba to “accompany the historic journey of recovery” of the territory that by right, history and tradition belongs to Venezuela.

From the Poliedro de Caracas, located in La Rinconada, he pointed out the need to promote debate based on the meticulous study of the history of the national territory and the fight for the recovery of Essequibo, after the dispossession to which Venezuela was subjected by the British Empire:

“To the management team, I order this study material to circulate in the 12 academies so that it is the object of study, improvement, research, and can accompany this historic day of recovery,” urged the Minister of People’s Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, and the Vice Minister for Education, Félix Osorio Guzmán.

The orientation that seeks to strengthen the sovereign position over Essequibo is supported by the stages defined by the head of state during the Act of National Union in Defense of Guayana Esequiba, held on November 7 at the Teresa Carreño Theater.

In this regard, six historical moments are detailed: 1) Formation of the territory (1492-1840); 2) Aggression, dispossession and arbitration fraud (1840-1899); 3) Imperial diplomacy, denunciation of fraud and the Geneva Agreement (1900-1966); 4) Geneva Agreement and search for a peaceful solution for the parties (1966-2015); 5) Conspiracy against Venezuela (2015-2023); and 6) Consultative referendum in Venezuela.
