The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, appeared, this Thursday, at the Plaza de la Rebelión Antiimperialista (Square of the Anti-Imperialist Rebellion), located in Caracas, to commemorate the 16th anniversary of the Youth of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (JPSUV), an occasion where he planted a tree to honor the Venezuelan youth. The national leader was accompanied by the vice president of the PSUV, Diosdado Cabello; the Minister for Education, Héctor Rodríguez; and the general secretary of the JPSUV, Grecia Colmenares.
To inaugurate his speech, President Maduro congratulated the members of the political platform for the mobilization carried out on the same day in the Venezuelan capital: “A beautiful mobilization, I congratulate you. A tremendous march today for the 16th anniversary of the Youth of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, of the Youth founded by Chavez,” declared the Head of State. He also detailed that he planted three trees upon arriving at the Square.
Three trees:
“I arrived, and the first thing I did was plant three trees, leave three trees in this square that will transcend all times,” he indicated. “The first tree: an Araguaney, and I planted it in homage to our giant,” referring to Commander Hugo Chavez. “In memory, in homage, recognition, and in eternal prayer to the immortal spirit” of the founder of the Bolivarian Revolution, he added. “That araguaney that will grow there is for him and by him.”
“Plant a tree and you will have eternal life”:
He continued that “the second tree, we planted it together,” in collaboration with the first vice president of the PSUV, Diosdado Cabello and the general secretary of the JPSUV, Grecia Colmenares. “We planted it with our own hands,” he emphasized, as well as identifying the plant as a Saman. “And I planted it so that it would be the saman of youth, the guarantee of the growth of this youth, I planted it in your name and for you,” he added. Additionally, he shared a brief aphorism: “Plant a tree and you will have eternal life.”
Additionally, the Venezuelan president planted the third tree: another araguaney, which “represents the spiritual wealth of a youth that will never give up on building the future of the Homeland,” as President Maduro expressed, in addition to pointing out that he “planted it against fascism, because fascism in Venezuela will not come, will never happen again.” After that, he sent greetings to the political leader Cabello, as well as to the Minister for Education, Héctor Rodríguez.
