Minister for Electricity verified progress in the stability of the National Electric System


The Minister of People’s Power for Electric Energy and President of the National Electric Corporation (Corpoelec) Freddy Brito, made a deployment across the country to verify the stability of the National Electric System (SEN), as well as the proper functioning of the substations in Sucre, Monagas, Trujillo, Táchira, Mérida and the Zulia state.
It should be noted that on December 3, Minister Brito inspected the Casanay Substation of the Antonio José de Sucre Thermoelectric Plant in Sucre state, which currently provides 270 megawatts to the country’s SEN, specifically corroborated the operation of the two GE 7001FA units, which are generating 135 MW to the SEN. “The units are in good condition and very operational”, he said.
He noted that: “This time we are conducting a supervision of the main nodes of the National Electric System (SEN), anticipating any circumstance that may arise in the infrastructure and trying to provide a better quality of service to the Venezuelan people.”
On December 2, the Minister toured the El Furrial Substation in Monagas, where he evaluated the progress in the recovery of power equipment damaged on November 22. He informed that these have a 70% advance in auxiliary services, corresponding to yards 230 and 115kV and the procedures for the replacement of the autotransformer number 3 of 200 megawatts (MVA), which was affected in the contingency.
He also said that thanks to the joint work between the government of Monagas state, PDVSA and the CORPOELEC workers, the supply was normalized in the shortest possible time.
He stressed that the normalization of the 200 MVA autotransformer number 2 is a fact, he said that currently rigor tests are carried out so that the number 2 bar of the 115 kV yard comes into operation and normalizes.
Subsequently, on November 27, he traveled to the Buena Vista substation in the Trujillo state, there he reviewed the conditions of the 230kV line and the operation in the power equipment, also guaranteed the operation of the service in this Andean region.
Together with the authorities of the South Western Cargo Office and Regional Manager of Transmission Los Andes, as well as the Functional Manager of Corpoelec Trujillo, reviewed the cause of some auto disconnection events of 300 to 500 megawatts, specifically of the Buena Vista line, and it was immediately proceeded to correct the failure.
On November 26, the minister’s visit to the San Agatón hydroelectric power plants of the Uribante de Táchira and Fabricio Ojeda municipality, located in the Padre Noguera municipality of Mérida, where he verified the recovery work of the Machine with the team was known 1 of San Agatón, which once the repairs are completed, will provide 70 MW more for the Andean area. In La Vueltosa, he managed to appreciate the situation of the download channel and the works for the improvement of auxiliary services.
Finally, on November 25, the holder of the Electric Power portfolio, Freddy Brito, examined the Morochas 2 substations, in the municipality of Lagunillas and Cuatricentenario, in the Maracaibo municipality.
Brito highlighted, the work carried out by the working class of Corpoelec in Zulia, in the rehabilitation of the towers of the crossing of the Lake, to improve the reliability in the transmission of energy, through Tablazo- Cuatricentenario 400KV lines 1 and 2.
The Minister and president of CORPOELEC said that improvements are now evident, after the incorporation of the TZ7 generation unit in Termozulia. “We will continue working from the Electric General Staff, to provide the people of Zulia with the stability of the electric service”.
