Head of State urges PPT leaders to defend Guayana Esequiba

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, through a telephone contact, communicated with militants of the “Patria Para Todos” (Homeland for All – PPT) party, in order to urge the leaders of the political group to unite nationally in defense of Guayana Esequiba: “On December 3, the country has a date with history to show that Essequibo is ours,” he said.

Likewise, the head of state described December 3 as a blessed date, on which Venezuelans will vindicate the fight for the independence and territorial integrity of Venezuela: “The Sunday of the consultative referendum is a day of national unity, it is not a day for exclusion, nor division,” he emphasized.

In turn, he denounced that “during the 19th century, the landowning oligarchies divided our country and led us to a state of almost disappearance as a State, as a Republic. The British and American empires divided our continent and territory to the east, in a great trap that they set up with the Paris Award, by setting up a court with its own judges and null and immoral sentences, where they took advantage of the war and divisions.”

Furthermore, President Maduro stated that on December 3, a historic event will occur in Venezuela: the people will come out to decide: “On that day, summoned by the Legislative Power, we will exercise our absolute sovereignty and decide the destiny of peace, independence, and territorial integration.”

Finally, he instructed the leaders to go house by house, to motivate, educate, to raise awareness and seek the “5 times Yes” vote, to achieve victory in defense of the Essequibo territory.
