Operation Autana 2023 defends the Venezuelan Amazon from criminal gangs

A total of 14,100 illegal miners have been evicted from the Yapacana National Park, through Operation Bolivarian Shield Autana 2023, as reported the General Commander of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (CEOFANB), Domingo Hernández Lárez, during the commemoration of the 18th anniversary of the aforementioned military body.

He added that during these operations, 27 citadels were found in which there were 4,455 stilt-type structures where illegal miners stayed. Likewise, he explained that 16 criminal camps of Colombian terrorists were destroyed, from whom different types of weapons were seized.

Likewise, he reported that were also seized 500 kilos of marijuana, 400 kilos of cocaine, 11 rafts, motor pumps, 128 kilometers of high-pressure hoses to destroy nature; mills, diamond crushers, turbines, heavy machinery, engines, airplane gasoline, among other items.

The General Commander maintained that, with the criminal material seized by 26 thousand FANB men during Operation Autana, it was confirmed that illegal mining is led by criminal gangs from Colombia. Finally, he indicated that they have the necessary material to go to the reforestation phase in the Yapacana National Park.

It should be noted that the Autana 2023 operation is made up of three phases:

1.- Recognition, information search and coordination

2.- Direct operation of eviction, dismantling and destruction of elements that affect the environment

3.- Reforestation, afforestation and permanent establishment of the Venezuelan State of the FANB and the Popular Power to protect the Amazon.

These military actions carried out by the Venezuelan military are carried out in accordance with the Fifth Historical Objective of the Homeland Plan 2019-2025, focused on the salvation of the human species and life on the planet.
