Maduro denounces campaign to discredit electoral process of DEC-6

The president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Nicolás Maduro, denounced on Tuesday a campaign, led by former presidential candidate Henrique Capriles Radonski; to discredit the electoral process of next December 6:

“They are trying to raise a campaign from Europe and from some desperate political factors to sabotage this process by creating opinion matrixes. Capriles Radonski is leading a campaign”, warned the president of the political organization during the swearing-in of the “Darío Vivas” National Campaign Command.

In statements broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, Nicolás Maduro emphasized that in these elections – where more than 20 million people are being summoned – the Venezuelans will elect, and imperial axes will not interfere:

“These elections on December 6, summon us to a historic battle, and here in Venezuela (Donald) Trump (president of the United States), (Iván) Duque (president of Colombia) will not decide. A fugitive from justice is not going to decide”, said the president of the PSUV.

In this sense, he reiterated his call to all Venezuelans to participate in the elections on December 6, and affirmed that this electoral process has all the established constitutional guarantees:

“I call on the entire people of Venezuela to decide and elect a new National Assembly for the 2021-2026 term”, he said.

In this regard, he recalled the electoral processes that have been carried out in the country, of which two (2007 and 2015) were won by the Venezuelan right wing. In those days – he recalled – Commander Hugo Chávez and himself accepted the defeat and called for the acknowledgement of the results expressed by the National Electoral Council (CNE).

Faced with this situation, Nicolás Maduro urged the revolutionary forces to work to conquer Parliament, so that it responds to the popular will:

«This 2020 the time has come to go out to win and rescue the National Assembly, and put the National Assembly at the service of our people; where the power of the people is”, he said.

Earlier, the Great Patriotic Pole had presented the 554 candidates and 48 national candidates who will participate in the elections on December 6, where more than 200 deputies will be elected.
