This Monday, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, condemned all kinds of political violence that destabilizing groups want to impose, referring to the decision of the Attorney General, Tareck William Saab, to appoint a prosecutor to investigate death threats against Delsa Solórzano, presidential candidate for the Encuentro Ciudadano (Citizen Meeting) party.
In his “Con Maduro +” program, the head of state expressed his support for the decision to initiate an investigation, regarding which he ordered the Minister of Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, to activate efforts so that “also the Government to carry out the investigation, and also offer this presidential candidate all the protection of the security services, the police services of Venezuela”.
The President emphasized that the investigation will be carried out and the truth will be discovered, however, he considered that everything responds to “a montage of malicious people, because the threat is made in the name of Maduro, Diosdado, and the Bolivarian Revolution.” .
“We have never, ever used the methods of terrorism, attacks, or violence to settle our political differences. We have never done it, nor will we ever do, we are people of peace, people of dialogue, civilized people”, stressed the head of state.
Contrary to this, President Maduro recalled: “Rather, we have been victims of the same criminal gangs of Colombian hitmen, who killed Robert Serra?: Colombian and Venezuelan hitmen trained by Uribe Vélez and his paramilitary gangs. He was a leader who denounced Colombian paramilitarism”.
“Who killed Commander Otaiza?, Colombian criminal gangs. Who made an attempt on my life with some drones? Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, Julio Borges, all those who carried out the attack with drones are convicted and confessed, they were all captured, and they declared, we have been victims of the paramilitary political violence that comes from Colombia, just as Ecuador is being a victim today”
Along these lines, the Venezuelan Dignitary condemned “all types of violence and I offer all the protection against this type of threats that, without a doubt, are setups, which come from perverse sectors that want to disturb the peace and security of Venezuela. My respect to all the leaders of the opposition, we have the differences that we have and we continue in peace, I call you to peace, to tranquility ”, he pointed out.
