Assuring that Venezuela is prepared to defend the right to peace, the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Nicolás Maduro Moros, urged the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) corps to get professionalized with the best technology in the world.
Within the context of the 86th anniversary of this military body, the Dignitary insisted on the need to preserve the peace of Venezuelan society and “defend the right to independence, sovereignty and economic prosperity,” said the Head of State from the Group of Command actions of the GNB, located in the Macarao parish.
In this sense, he assured that there are sectors of the extreme right financed by the United States government “that are once again trying to fill society with hatred, again to lead us to a conflict like they did in 2014 and 2017 (…) (we are) increasingly prepared to defend the right to peace”.
Similarly, he extended his words of congratulations to the military, while stressing that since the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution, the GNB has been strengthened thanks to its incorporation into the Constitution of the Republic.
“The GNB has been born and reborn many times and one of the fundamental times is when our Commander Hugo Chávez included it in the Constitution and later when he gave it the Bolivarian character forever,” he pointed out.
The act of celebration was propitious for the Dignitary to deliver decorations to the banners of the Zone Commands of Zulia, Táchira, Barinas, Carabobo, Capital District, Miranda, Anzoátegui and Bolívar states.
Five years after the assassination attempt:
Likewise, the President recalled that on August 4, 2018, the government of then Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos, following instructions from the US government headed by Donald Trump, attempted to carry out an assassination which was frustrated:
“Five years have passed the first assassination attempt known in history for using drone technology.” Just as he also pointed out that, thanks to the investigations, the immediate capture of the material authors “and part of the intellectual authors” was achieved.
“Thanks to the investigations, it was known who put the money, the drones, the explosive, in which part of Colombia they were being trained, and it became clear the intellectual authorship of the former deputy, traitor to the Homeland, Julio Borges”.
“We are alive thanks to God, to continue fulfilling this mission. The mission of making the Homeland, of bringing the independence and sovereignty of our country forever, perpetual Independence, perpetual Revolution!”, he concluded.
