COVID: Venezuela detects 1,127 new cases and seven deaths

The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, reported that in the last 24 hours have been registered 1,016 community cases, in addition to 111 imported, for a total of 1,127 new cases this day; with these figures Venezuela accumulates 48,883 cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

She explained that Caracas had the highest figure, with 262 cases (in the 21 parishes), followed by Zulia state with 166 and Miranda (153); La Guaira (116), Nueva Esparta (83), Aragua (38), Apure (34); Sucre (29), Lara (26), Mérida (22); Delta Amacuro (20), Carabobo (15), Anzoátegui (14); Barinas (10), Bolívar and Guárico (7), Yaracuy (5), Táchira (4), Portuguesa (3), and Trujillo (2).

Likewise, on the imported cases, she highlighted that 107 entered through Colombia, (3) from Ecuador and (1) from Peru. She regretted that seven new deaths were registered today, for a total number of 398.

As an encouraging note, she highlighted that, up to date, 39,912 cases (82%) have recovered from the infection, and 8,573 cases are active: 1,813 symptomatic (mild / moderate / severe),, 6,760 asymptomatic (80%). A 98% of patients are in hospitals / CDI, and a 2% are in clinics.

She indicated that throughout the country have been carried out 1,780,734 tests, for 59,358 tests per million inhabitants.

She pointed out that the Government does not stop its approach in the communities and through the Missions Venezuela Bella, Barrio Nuevo Barrio Tricolor, governorships and mayors, “disinfection and cleaning journeys are carried out throughout the national territory”.

Finally, she urged to respect the radical quarantine, “only people excepted by sectors (public service, health, food) are authorized, the rest all must stay at home”, she said, on day 171 of quarantine.
