Within the framework of the meeting of the High-Level Intergovernmental Commission (CIAN), Russia and Venezuela strengthen strategic cooperation relations after the official visit to our country by the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Yuri Borisov.
From the Simón Bolívar Hall of the Ministry of People’s Power for Petroleum in Caracas, the Sectoral Vice President of Economy, Tareck El Aissami, asserted that this meeting made it possible to review the development plans framed in bilateral relations under the premises of mutual respect and ties of brotherhood.
In this sense, El Aissami added that this meeting «has allowed us to continue evaluating and broadening the horizons of this virtuous cooperation that is based on more than 20 cooperation agreements in different areas in which the energy sector stands out”.
Next, Minister El Aissami pointed out that relations between Russia and Venezuela have played an active role in consolidating the OPEC+ declaration, highlighting that so far «we have managed to overcome the negative impacts caused by the pandemic and the stability of a price right in the hydrocarbon market”.
It is important to note that in October 2021 Russia and Venezuela signed important agreements towards the expansion of the strategic cooperation alliance, as an expression of the constant evolution that Russian-Venezuelan diplomatic relations have had.
Meanwhile, in the last 20 years, both countries have maintained bilateral integration links, in order to stimulate and drive important areas of cooperation for the diversification of sources of growth and identification of potentialities.
