The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), in security and defense actions, guarantees the protection of national parks, forest reserves and other areas of the territory against criminal groups that intend to carry out illegal mining in the country’s border territories.
According to a press release, their example, and as part of the work in the Amazon Integral Defense Operational Zone and Operation Bolivarian Shield Autana 2022, was dismantled an illegal mining camp in this territorial entity.
The operational strategic commander of the FANB, G/J Domingo Antonio Hernández Lárez, in his account on the Twitter social network, @dhernandezlarez, reported that the troops deployed in the region located and dismantled the camp where were found 27 motorcycle bombs. 10 power plants, six turbines, 5,000 meters of hose, 4,000 liters of diesel, two sieves and other supplies to be used in illegal actions.
