Bolivarian Government appoints team of specialists to recover infrastructure and operation of Monomeros

The sectoral Vice President for Economy, Tareck El Aissami, reported that the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, has appointed a team of specialists to restore the operation of Monómeros, a Colombian-Venezuelan company belonging to Petrochemicals of Venezuela (Pequiven), which “was received in ruins”.

In a press conference, the Sectoral Vice President of Economy announced that Venezuela is already working to restore the entire fertilizer production chain in order to honor the Venezuelan Government’s commitment to Colombian farmers and producers.

In this sense, he explained that the first action carried out by the new directive of Monómeros starts from the activation of the company’s main dock to, later, send a ship with Venezuelan raw material and thus reactivate the operation of the industry:

The level of deterioration in which we received Monómeros exceeds what we estimated. But we have already started working to restore the company. We will see this Colombian-Venezuelan company shine again” that is, at the service of both nations, emphasized El Aissami, who is also Minister of People’s Power for Petroleum.

During the speech, the head of the hydrocarbons portfolio stressed that the destruction of this important supply production company for the agricultural sector was perpetrated by Juan Guaidó, Leopoldo López and Iván Duque, who “conspired to use Colombian institutions and steal this Venezuelan asset”.

“The opposition’s plan was to consecutively indebt Monómeros so that the company would become unviable and sell it to a new holder of state assets and the money would be embezzled and distributed by Guaidó,” he said.
