Venezuela evaluates strategies to combat climate change on the occasion of COP27

The People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Carlos Faría, met with the head of the portfolio for Ecosocialism, Josué Lorca, on the occasion of the 27th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP27), which will take place from November 6 to 18, 2022 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

According to a press release from the Chancellory, during the meeting both Venezuelan authorities evaluated the international agreements and the strategies of the South American nation to combat climate change, as well as the actions to face environmental challenges.

In this sense, Minister Lorca has highlighted the importance of creating a joint agenda that establishes actions to face environmental challenges, regarding the warning of the scientists of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), regarding the coming scenario for humanity due to the increase in temperature and the loss of biological diversity.
