President Nicolás Maduro receives credentials from ambassadors of Suriname, Saint Lucia, Rwanda and Cambodia

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, welcomed this Monday at Miraflores Palace the new ambassadors appointed by the governments of the Republics of Suriname, Rwanda, Saint Lucia and Cambodia, to carry out their missions in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

From the Sun of Peru Hall, the Head of State receives the new diplomats accompanied by Chancellor Carlos Faría; the first combatant woman, Cilia Flores; and the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez.

The first high-ranking official to present his respects and his credentials was the ambassador of Suriname, Gustaaf Rasiman, who is a retired military officer from his country and arrived in Venezuela last June. In 2019, Venezuela and Suriname held the 4th Meeting of the Political Consultation Mechanism, where they signed the Joint Declaration on various matters of bilateral cooperation, which have promoted action plans and friendship.

For Saint Lucia, the designated ambassador Peter Lansiquot expressed his appreciation to the Bolivarian Government. On December 28, 2021, he was appointed as representative to Venezuela. On March 30, 2022, the approval was granted by the Venezuelan State.

Finally, attended diplomat Ban Borom, appointed by the Kingdom of Cambodia as ambassador to Cuba and concurrent in Venezuela. She is a specialist with a master’s degree in art and education, and has had an extensive diplomatic career in her country since 1981. In 2019, Venezuela and Cambodia opened a new route of cooperation, in which they signed an understanding memorandum to strengthen bilateral relations in multiple areas.

The Venezuelan Government, before the senior diplomatic visitors, ratifies its commitment to consolidate bilateral ties under the principles and values ​​of solidarity, brotherhood, cooperation and complementarity, within the framework of the Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy.
