Attack on military units seeks for an escalade of violence in the country

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, reported that the La Grita Mortar Battery Unit in Tachira state was besieged for six hours by paramilitary groups.

“They are attacking military units to provoke the worst, an escalade of violence,” said the Head of State during a telephone contact with the “Con El Mazo Dando” (Hitting with the Hammer)  program.

He reported that a vehicle was smashed and burned at the door of the military facility, adding that violent groups attempted to assault the barracks.

“The soldiers of our glorious Bolivarian Army took the pertinent measures so that it did not escalate into a bigger trouble, an aggression to a military unit”, he detailed.

The paramilitary attack was repelled with the support of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).

He blamed Julio Borges for these terrorist acts, and insisted that this is not a way of doing politics.

The President called on the military civic union to unite to defeat the terrorist onslaught and achieve the triumph of peace.
