Venezuelan government gets in solidarity with Sri Lankan people for worsening of economic crisis

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expressed its solidarity with the people of Sri Lanka, due to the worsening of the economic and social crisis they are going through, as well as the increase in episodes of violence:

“We support the call to the parties to promote a national dialogue and the peaceful resolution of disputes for the well-being of the population”, said the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Félix Plasencia, through his Twitter account @plasenciafelixr.

On May 9, the prime minister of the Asian country, Mahinda Rajapaksa, brother of the current president, resigned after the continuous anti-government protests registered in recent weeks and in relation to the recent curfew decreed by the national police. The resignation of the Ministers for Health and Labor, Channa Jayasuman and Vidura Wickremanayake, was also confirmed.
