President Nicolás Maduro urged governors and mayors to work to recover the welfare state of the people

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, urged on Wednesday to the Governors and Mayors elected on November 21 to work to achieve significant improvements in the quality of life of the Venezuelan people:

I am the President of every mayor in the country, and I extend my hands to you for the job. Let’s work to improve the people’s lives”, he said.

During the swearing-in ceremony of governor-elect of Aragua state, Karina Carpio, the national president urged Governors and Mayors to work for the well-being of the people: “I extend my hands to you, ley’s work for the well-being of the people”.

“I wanted to come to Aragua state to be a historical witness of the arrival of the first female Governor of this entity, where all the struggles for freedom, life and independence in Venezuela were gestated”, he added.

In this context, the Head of State reiterated his call for dialogue: “I am a person of dialogue, I have called for dialogue more than a thousand times. I did not hesitate for a single second to acknowledge your triumph, and I expect from you nobility of spirit” he said, referring to the meetings held in Miraflores with opposition governors Manuel Rosales, Morel Rodríguez and Alberto Galíndez, from Zulia, Nueva Esparta and Cojedes states respectively.

Likewise, he called on the leaders of all the social and communal movements of the country to strengthen the political leadership of the grassroots.

The national president also announced that the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) will take measures on those who harmed the people and manipulated the process of the primary elections held on August 8, making improper use of their machinery to elect the candidates of the November 21 elections: “We will take exemplary measures with those who divided the people during the primaries”, he warned.
