ALBA-TCP salutes this Sunday’s electoral journey in Venezuela

Through a statement, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) greeted and congratulated the Venezuelan people after the regional and municipal elections this Sunday.

They highlight the climate of peace and transparency of the process, which was attended and accompanied by organizations and personalities from more than 55 countries, as part of the Oversight Program of the National Electoral Council (CNE).

The member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) express their congratulations to the People and the institutions of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for the celebration of the “Regional Elections of Venezuela of 2021”, held on November 21, in which the executive and legislative positions of the 24 federal entities and 335 municipalities of the country were renewed.

Likewise, they highlight the democratic vocation of the Venezuelan people, the climate of peace on electoral day and citizen participation in the election of their representatives.

Likewise, they highlight the role of the National Electoral Council, which, by implementing one of the safest and most reliable electoral systems in the world, guarantees that the will of the people expressed through the vote is respected by complying with strict biosafety measures in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, the Alliance highlights the transparency of the process, which was attended by observers and electoral oversight from more than 55 countries. The Alliance welcomes the successful development of the elections, despite the threats of interference and the imposition of unilateral coercive measures that are in violation of International Law and the Charter of the United Nations.

Likewise, ALBA – TCP recognizes the enormous economic, political and social achievements and the gestures of solidarity of the Bolivarian Revolution towards the peoples of the world.”
