New vaccination scheme to minimize Delta variant

The Ministry of People’s Power for Health ordered all the single health authorities and directors of the Integral Community Health Areas and the coordinators of the vaccination centers against Covid-19, to increase immunization.

Carlos Alvarado, head of the Bolivarian Government’s health portfolio, reported that with the arrival of the new doses of vaccines, will be massified the process in order to achieve the goal of vaccinating 70 percent of the population:

“There are 9 strategies that we will implement to minimize the Delta variant of Covid-19 that is circulating nationwide”, explained Minister Alvarado.

The daily vaccination goal will be increased from 100 to 300 thousand people, vaccination will be intensified in those states with the highest circulation of the virus, and all adult men and women over 60 and 50 years old will be vaccinated without needing an appointment.

Also, vaccination centers will be installed in State institutions, in municipal markets, people from 30 to 39 years old will be summoned through the Patria System, a house-by-house journey will be undertaken for elder adults, people with disabilities and pregnant women with more than 15 weeks of gestation.

The community journey will be used to immunize children with vaccines and routine deworming, feverish cases will be searched and will be applied tests to detect Covid and Dengue.
