Venezuela extends condolences to the Cuban people and Government for the decease of Dr. Pedro Llerena Hernández

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Venezuelan people and Government, extends his heartfelt words of condolences to the people and Government of the Republic of Cuba, on the occasion of the heartfelt decease of Dr. Pedro Llerena Hernández.

The document was published on Tuesday by Chancellor Jorge Arreaza, through the Twitter social network account @jaarreaza, where the head of diplomacy said: “Venezuela extends its most heartfelt words of condolences to the people and Government of Cuba, on the sad passing of Dr. Pedro Llerena Hernandez. We honor his memory and thank him for his humanity and commitment to life.”

“Doctor Llerena was widely known for his selfless humanist vocation in the service of the people. A great friend of Venezuela, he received from the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro, the historic responsibility of being in charge of the Cuba-Venezuela Integral Health Agreement for 15 years as well as the Direction of the La Pedrera International Health Center (CIS) where he stood out for exercising his profession with kindness, simplicity and immense love for our America,” reads the statement.

It also highlights the Bolivarian Venezuela will forever honor his memory and will keep eternal gratitude for his humanity and commitment to life.

“Thanks to Dr. Llerena’s dedication, thousands of Venezuelan patients regained their health, hope and life itself,” he concluded.
