Declared as Constitutional extension of State of Economic Emergency

This Wednesday, the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) declared the extension of the State of Exception and Economic Emergency as constitutional.

The sentence emanates from a presentation by the president of the Constitutional Chamber, Juan José Mendoza, this Wednesday, as refers a press release.

The 60-day extension by the National Executive was published in the Official Gazette No. 6,615 of February 23, 2021.

After the ruling, the Supreme Court reiterated that the judgments of the Constitutional Chamber are binding on all bodies of the National Public Power.

The State of Exception and Economic Emergency in the national territory is “aimed at avoiding the pernicious effects of the economic war against the people.”

It was established given the extraordinary social, economic and political circumstances that affect the constitutional order, peace and security of the Nation.

It allows the Government to take urgent measures to ensure the full enjoyment of their rights and preserve internal order, as quotes the Presidential Decree.
