COVID-19: Venezuela confirms 922 new infections and six deaths

A total of 922 positive infections and another six deaths from the Covid-19 pandemic were confirmed this Sunday by the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, where 825 of the cases are community-transmitted and 97 are imported.

With this new balance, the country totals 45,868 infected, of which 82% correspond to recovered people, specifically 37,091, and 381 deaths.

Of the fatalities in the last 24 hours, two are from Guárico state, two from Táchira, one from the Capital District and the other from Aragua state, said Rodríguez.

Regarding the new positive cases, he explained that Caracas registered 332 in the 22 parishes, being El Valle, Sucre, Coche, Altagracia, San Juan and La Vega the ones that reported the highest number.

In addition, 178 of the new cases are located in Miranda state; 48 in Bolívar and 47 in Nueva Esparta, followed by La Guaira with 45; Barinas 35; Delta Amacuro 34 and the same number in Aragua.

On the other hand, 15 cases are from Lara; 14 from Carabobo; 9 in Táchira; 9 in Merida; 7 in Yaracuy; 6 in Apure; 2 in Cojedes and 2 in Zulia, while Monagas and Amazonas registered a single infected person each.

In relation to the imported ones, 91 come from Colombia; two from Brazil; two from Peru and the remaining two from Ecuador.

She added that, of the active cases, 99 are people admitted to Intensive Care Units (ICU), 610 have moderate conditions, 1,725 mild and 5,962 are asymptomatic.
