COVID 19: Venezuela reports 895 new infections and surpasses 35,000 cases

The Presidential Commission for the Prevention and Control of Covid-19 has registered in the last 24 hours, 856 cases of community transmission and 39 international cases, for a total of 895 new infections in the country, as detailed the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, in her account on Twitter.

Rodríguez mentioned that once again the Capital District concentrates the largest number of cases detected, to which she refers as the epicenter of the pandemic in the country. In this regard, she maintained that 282 cases were detected, the most affected parishes today being El Valle with 84 cases, Catia (33) and Altagracia (18); followed by Caricuao (17), La Pastora (13), El Recreo (12); and Antímano, Santa Rosalía and La Vega with (9) cases each parish, respectively.

Then follow El Paraíso and 23 de Enero with (8) cases, San Bernardino and Catedral with (7), San Pedro, San José and Coche with (6), La Candelaria (5), San Agustín (3); El Junquito, Santa Teresa and San Juan with (2), and Macarao (1).

“The virus is currently circulating in the 22 parishes of Caracas,” she stressed.

Regarding the referral of cases in the rest of the country, she pointed out, Miranda has 164, Monagas 99, Zulia 94, La Guaira 59, Sucre 44, Aragua 34, Yaracuy 27, Bolívar 14, Anzoátegui 10; Apure 9, Mérida 7, Nueva Esparta and Delta Amacuro 5, Táchira 2, and finally Trujillo, where was reported a single case.

Regarding imported cases, she indicated that 34 are coming from Colombia, two from Brazil, two from Peru, and one from Ecuador.

The death toll rose up to 297 this Tuesday, bordering the 300 barrier, with nine deaths registered, (3) in the Capital District: 2 men aged 66 and 71, and (1) woman aged 60, as well as 2 men 71 and 66 years old in Carabobo state, a 73 year old woman in Zulia, a 61 year old woman in Amazonas, a 61 year old man in Sucre, and a 52 year old man in Mérida state.

Venezuela up to date totals 35,697 Covid-19 cases, of which 10,839 are active, 24,561 have recovered (69%), 6,377 are in Hospitals, 4,284 in CDI, 178 in Private Clinics.

“This is not the time to relax prevention and biosecurity measures. We are in the week of radical quarantine and only united, taking care of ourselves to take care of others, we will be able to overcome the effects of this pandemic that today plagues the whole of humanity”, emphasized the vice president, after meeting week 23 of 156 days of quarantine .
