Covid-19: Venezuela detects 1,047 new cases and seven deaths

Venezuela confirmed a total of 1,047 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, of which 1,029 correspond to community transmission and 18 cases are imported, (17) from Colombia, and (1) from Brazil, as reported the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, through his account on Twitter.

Rodríguez indicated that the national cases are distributed as follows: 393 in the Capital District, 250 in Miranda, 81 in La Guaira, 60 in Zulia, 47 in Lara, 44 in Carabobo, 42 in Amazonas, 32 in Bolívar, 28 in Anzoátegui , 18 in Trujillo, 16 in Aragua, 7 in Cojedes, 4 in Yaracuy, 3 in Mérida, 2 in Monagas, and 1 in Delta Amacuro and Sucre, respectively.

“Today new infections have been detected in the 22 parishes of the Capital District, concentrating the largest number of cases in El Valle (99), Catia (33) and San Juan (25) parishes”, published Rodríguez, through her account @drodriven2.

Likewise, regarding the current condition of active cases, 6,661 are asymptomatic, 3,856 have mild respiratory failure, 337 have moderate respiratory failure, and 85 are in Intensive Care Units due to severe respiratory failure.

Venezuela has 34,802 confirmed Covid-19 cases up to date, of which 23,575 have recovered satisfactorily, which represents a recovery rate of 68%, leaving 10,939 active cases throughout the national territory, of which 6,675 are being treated in hospitals, 4,082 in Integral Diagnostic Centers, and 182 in Private Clinics.

She also highlighted the current condition of the active cases: 4,202 are without symptoms, 3,241 have mild respiratory failure, 275 with moderate respiratory failure, and 81 are in intensive care units due to severe conditions.

The vice president lamented the death of (7) patients: (2) men aged 60 and 62 in Táchira state, (2) men aged 68 and 64 in Carabobo, (1) man aged 26 in Miranda, (1) 78 years woman in La Guaira and (1) 42-year-old woman in Sucre state, thus reaching 288 deaths by Covid-19 in the country.

To date, 1,650,917 tests have been carried out for the detection of Covid-19, which represents 55,031 tests per million inhabitants. “We continue to fight tirelessly, the Presidential Commission and the Scientific Team, to stop the spreading of the virus”, added Rodríguez.

Finally, she stressed that on Monday the radical quarantine week started, in accordance with the Venezuelan formula of 7 + 7, as decreed by President Nicolás Maduro:
