ANC consigned to the Prosecutor's Office a denounce against Franklyn Duarte for inciting hatred

The National Constituent Assembly (ANC) consigned to the Public Ministry a denounce against the deputy to the National Assembly in contempt Franklyn Duarte, to incite and promote hatred through the social networks, as reported on Wednesday the vice president of the Justice Committee of the plenipotentiary power, Esteban Arvelo.
In an interview on the “Al Aire” (On Air) program, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, he explained that now it is up to the Public Ministry to provide the necessary elements to lift the parliamentary immunity of the citizen, who will be entitled to legitimate defense, as reported the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN) on its website this Wednesday.
“Immunity is not impunity. In recent days a deputy to the National Assembly in contempt committed crimes of incitement and promotion of hate via social networks, crimes meant in the Anti-Hate Law. We reported the denounce to the Public Ministry, and it will be the one who will conduct the investigations and provide elements to the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) to determine if there is flagrancy or prejudice of merit, and agree to the lifting of parliamentary immunity”, he said.
In recent days, the protector of Táchira state, Freddy Bernal, requested an investigation against deputy Franklyn Duarte for writing a series of messages in which he incites the governments of the world to attack the members of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela ( Psuv).
Arvelo said that by having parliamentary immunity does not mean that they can break the law. “Its objective is to protect the exercise of legislative functions and not the flagrant commission of crimes”.
In addition, he indicated that from the Commission of Justices of the ANC great proposals are debated so that justice is done against these crimes in the country, among them the reform of the Constitutional Law Against Hate.
