Nine regions to begin partial flexibilization on Monday

In the states of Zulia; La Guaira; Carabobo; Sucre; Táchira; Bolívar; Miranda and Aragua, in addition to the Capital District, the level 1 of the new method of partial flexibilization of the 7+7 due to the Covid-19 pandemic will begin to rule this Monday.

The announcement was made by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, who also defined a second line of general flexibilization that will rule in the other states:

“We are going to apply the method with two tiers, even though some regions are growing rapidly, with all the measures – of biosecurity – we are going to make states such as Zulia and Caracas partially more flexible”, he explained.

He said that Caracas and Zulia have “a long week of radial quarantine”, and in that order he added that, “the time has come for a partial, monitored and secure flexibilization” for the sake of the economic and social life of the aforementioned regions.

In level two, will be applied general flexibilization and includes the states: Merida; Yaracuy; Amazonas; Cojedes; Barinas; Guarico; Trujillo; Monagas, Falcon; Nueva Esparta and Delta Amacuro.

In addition, the general flexibilization includes Lara, Portuguesa and Apure, except for the municipalities bordering Colombia, as indicated the president during a balance of the health situation.

In this regard, he confirmed 844 new cases, of which 797 are of local transmission and 47 cases are imported. He also pointed out that eight other people had died from the disease.

In this context, Executive Vice President Delcy Rodriguez stressed that for this relaxation stage, the 10 sectors of the economy announced in the first instance will be activated at level one.

These sectors are: construction, hardware stores, transportation, hairdressers, medical services, textiles and footwear, personal refrigeration services, among other prioritized establishments, said the executive Vice President in a contact with the head of state.

Another 24 economic sectors, which includes the 10 of the first level, in addition to cinemas, sports without public, registry and notaries, shopping centers and among others, are also authorized.
