President Maduro ordered the deployment of Missions to attend Venezuelan nationals coming from Colombia

The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, reported that constitutional President Nicolás Maduro ordered the deployment of the “Somos Venezuela” (We Are Venezuela) Movement to serve nationals returning from Colombia and other countries.

“President Nicolás Maduro has ordered the deployment of the Somos Venezuela Movement, for the attention with all the institutionality of the Social Missions and Great Missions, so that the compatriots are entered into the protection system of the Bolivarian Revolution”, he said during a Press conference this Sunday at Miraflores Palace in Caracas.

In addition, he explained that at the borders, protocols and control devices of the Covid-19 remain activated to carry out the coronavirus screening for each one of the Venezuelans who enter the country, after being evicted from their residences in Colombia.

“We have protocols and devices for the control of each of the compatriots. The care is free (…) In addition, the mandatory quarantine rule has been issued for two weeks in the receiving states of the border countries (Bolívar, Zulia and Táchira)”, he said.

In recent days, a significant number of Venezuelans have returned to the country, the majority coming from Colombia, after being displaced from their residences for not having a way to pay their rents due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic.

In this sense, the vice president rejected the position of the Colombian Government and demanded the United Nations to address this type of violation of the human rights of compatriots who are being thrown onto the streets during this crisis that is affecting the entire world.
