National Executive signed tariff reform decree

The Constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, signed on Tuesday the Decree for the partial reform of the customs tariff.

“We will make a policy of tariff balance (…) in order to facilitate and protect national production (…) by modifying tariffs that are required to ensure that the raw material arrives in a timely manner”, he said.

With this measure, the rates set forth in export and import will be modified according to the priorities and productive needs.

“We are going to raise tariffs on all those products that we are producing in Venezuela, which merits a permanent monitoring and adjustment table”, said the Dignitary while urging the sectoral vice president for economy, Tareck El Aissami, to make a monthly report of the same.

“We are going to hit much higher all the products that Venezuela and our small and medium industry produces, to guarantee and supply the market with quality,” he said from the Ayacucho Hall of Miraflores Palace.

After the signing of this Decree, El Aissami reported that have been eliminated 2,000 tariff codes for the export of goods:

“From now on we will stimulate and favor the exportation of the entire productive sector so that they are placed on the international order,” said the head of the economic portfolio.
