ANC president rejects Mike Pompeo’s interventionist statement on Venezuela

The President of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), Diosdado Cabello, qualified as impertinent the recent interventionist statements by the Secretary of State of the United States, Mike Pompeo, regarding Venezuela.

During his weekly program “Con El Mazo Dando” (Hitting with the Hammer) broadcast by Venezolana de Television (VTV), Cabello said: “The most expeditious route is for the people to vote in 2020 to elect their deputies, it is the election we have on the horizon, how impertinent are these gentlemen”.

Recently, Pompeo would have interfered in Venezuela’s internal affairs by calling for a “negotiated transition” as a path to peace.

As it might be remembered, as established by the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the elections planned for this year are those of the parliamentary branch.
