The president of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, greeted the solidarity of the former president of Brazil, Luiz Inacio «Lula» Da Silva, towards the resistance of the Venezuelan people against the attacks and siege by the United States (US) government.
The Venezuelan president, through the Twitter social network, praised the message that Lula Da Silva delivered last Friday, November 22, during the seventh Congress of the Workers Party (PT), in which the Brazilian activist honored the ability to resistance of the Bolivarian people to the coercive measures imposed by the United States, regarding a reflection made on the political and social processes that the region is experiencing.
President Maduro meant that this acknowledgement by Lula highlights the courage and gallantry of Venezuelans to continue the battle for a Latin America free from hegemonies and to propitiate the future of the peoples:
“Brother Lula! On behalf of Venezuela I appreciate your words that exalt the courage and gallantry of our noble people. We continue in battle and victory to make our Homeland a region free from hegemonic empires, which builds its own future. A hug!», is the message of the Venezuelan Head of State released this Sunday.
Da Silva stressed that Venezuela has not surrendered to the whims of the US administration despite the economic and diplomatic pressures exerted by President Donald Trump, to depose the current political system and plunge the country into instability:
«Today, after everything we saw in Bolivia, we must be proud of everything the Venezuelan people resisted so as not to surrender, not to deliver to the whims of the US government,» said the labor leader of the neighboring country, embodied in an audiovisual material shared by President Maduro.
