Bolivarian Government denounces unconscious and anti-ecological behavior of member countries of self-styled Lima Group

“The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela denounces to the international community the unusual position of some governments of the Amazon region that call themselves members of the self-styled Lima Group, opposing for ideological reasons the convening of a timely and indispensable emergency meeting of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO), with the objective of evaluating and coordinating concrete decisions and measures together in the face of the serious fires affecting the Amazon.
In an absolutely reproachable and petty attitude, these governments choose to privilege their obsessive ideological fundamentalism, rather than their ethical and legal obligation to protect and protect the rainforests and tropical fauna of the Amazon, as well as to the original communities and peoples that inhabit the region, before the devastating effects of the forest fires that have been unleashed.
The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela calls on this group of rulers to depose their indolent, unconscious and anti-ecological behavior, and to comply with the commitments made by their States to the ACTO, while ratifying their willingness to act without delay and incorporate immediately to coordinated actions in the fight to quell fires and serve the affected populations and territories”.
