UN Rapporteur highlights blockade against Venezuela began more than 10 years ago

The Special Rapporteur on the negative impact of unilateral coercive measures, Idriss Jazairy, will present in September a new report to the United Nations Organization (UN), with an exhaustive analysis of how the process has been carried out to seize and block Venezuela for more than 10 years.
The information was released by the Human Rights activist, Cristóbal Cornieles, during his participation in the “Derechos Humanos en Revolución” (Human Rights in Revolution) program, broadcast every Thursday by RNV Informative channel:
“The report contains an in-depth study that categorically states that the aggressions and the blockade against Venezuela began more than 10 years ago, it refers to concrete measures that have been applied since 2004, reflecting the attacks suffered on our currency, to our economy, and distinguishes that in 2014 is when the blockade is officially formalized”, explained Cornieles.
During the interview, the activist stressed that the report that will be presented by Jazairy at the 42nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council on September 9, is a resounding victory of the international campaign carried out by the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela against the US attacks called: “Trump unblock Venezuela”.
The text emphasizes that “the unilateral economic sanctions adopted by the United States and other countries, coupled with a multifaceted economic war, have played an insignificant role in the paralysis of the economy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.”
