Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said this Wednesday that his country “will always be supportive of Venezuela and will counteract the pressure there is against Caracas, we will continue to defend the principles of International Law with you. We will always be in solidarity with you, we will defend the right of each people to choose their own development paths and we will categorically oppose any illegitimate and unilateral method of blackmail and pressure».
In this regard, Lavrov ratified his support for the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela, given the constant coercive and unilateral measures by the United States against the nation and which have intensified with the recent economic, financial and commercial blockade.
The statement was made by the Russian Foreign Minister, during his meeting with the Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, who traveled this week to that country to strengthen bilateral cooperation relations between the two nations.
For her part, Vice President Delcy Rodríguez thanked Moscow for their determined support to the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro:
“Russia has drawn the sword for all of us peoples who fight for our independence and sovereignty. We are stronger and more united (…) there are topics that we are going to discuss about the latest high-level visits, that allow us to have the bilateral and multilateral agenda up to date», said Rodríguez.
