The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela announced through a communique, the arrival of its delegation to Barbados to continue with the peace dialogue, sponsored by the Government of the Kingdom of Norway, with representatives of the Venezuelan opposition.
In this framework, the Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs, Jorge Arreaza, thanked the people and government of Barbados for their hospitality and ratified the recognition of the Norwegian government for facilitating the talks.
Based on the permanent search for instances of exchange and coexistence, the Bolivarian Government assumes the immense desire of the people of Venezuela – beyond the political positions that every person fencing legitimately plays – to defend their independence and sovereignty, and to settle our social and political issues in strict adherence to democratic norms and our Constitution, highlights the statement.
The talks between the government delegation and opposition representatives began on May 14 in Oslo, the Norwegian capital city, where several meetings were held between the parties.
