Dialogue between National Government and opposition will continue this week in Barbados


The dialogue between the National Government and the Venezuelan opposition will continue in Barbados, the Minister for Communication and Information, as informed Jorge Rodríguez on Sunday.
Through his Twitter account, Minister Rodríguez said that with this new negotiation process they expect a national agreement to be reached:
“History will acknowledge the tenacious spirit of dialogue demonstrated by the Bolivarian government, by our eternal Commander Hugo Chávez and by President Nicolás Maduro. We hope that his efforts in the consolidation of peace and national understanding will bear fruit”, he wrote on the aforementioned social network accompanied by a statement issued by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reporting details about the talks.
In the letter, the Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ine Eriksen Soreide, indicated that this exploratory phase begins this week in Barbados, as well as reiterating “his acknowledgement to the parties for their efforts and their spirit of cooperation”.
On May 20, representatives of the National Government and delegates of the Venezuelan opposition began the meetings in order to advance agreements for the political stability of the country.
Since 2013, the president Nicolás Maduro, has made more than 600 calls for dialogue as part of the policies of peace, reconciliation and respect for the sovereignty of the National Government.
