Venezuela rejects report presented by the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet

Venezuela rejected the report presented by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, which was qualified as “biased, lacking scientific rigor and serious methodological errors”.
This was stated by the Deputy Minister for International Communication, William Castillo, during the 41st session of the UN Human Rights Council, held in Geneva, Switzerland.
Castillo qualified as incomprehensible the content of this report that he considered was dominated by a selective and biased vision; a writing lacking scientific rigor, with serious methodological errors, and one which seems a carbon copy of previous reports.
He said Bachelet knows the report does not reflect the reality of what she saw in Venezuela.
Also, Castillo said that Bachelet ignores the information provided by the Executive branch, and only takes into account that obtained from opposition spokespersons.
He also revealed that, from the 558 interviews contained in the report, 460 were conducted abroad Venezuela, which means 82% of the opinions expressed.
He reproached that the report does not mention Venezuela’s advances in human rights matters.
Similarly, the vice minister for International Communication regretted that the UN High Commissioner ignores the serious impacts that the illegal, criminal and immoral economic blockade is exerting on the life of our people:
“We request to the High Commissioner, in accordance with the United Nations Resolutions on unilateral coercive measures, to demand an immediate end to the blockade of Venezuela”, he said.
