The Bolivarian Government buys more than 90 percent of the medical supplies required by the SPNS


The humanitarian technical assistance in health that has arrived in the country only represents 10 percent of the requirements of the population, the rest (more than 90 percent) is acquired by the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela through international agreements and national purchases.
This was stated on Wednesday by the Minister of People’s Power for Health, Carlos Alvarado, during his participation in the “Salud Soberana” (Sovereign Health) program, broadcast by RNV’s Informative channel, about the arrival on Monday of a flight from Panama with 24 tons of medical supplies. which are part of the cooperation agreement with the Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
The high official stressed that the 569 tons of humanitarian technical assistance that have so far reached Venezuela through different international bodies, only represents 10 percent of what is needed and distributed in the National Public Health System (SPNS).
“Despite the criminal blockade, Venezuela continues to seek the purchase of more than 90 percent of the health supplies required by the population, President Nicolás Maduro has prioritized this area in addition to food,” said Alvarado.
