Venezuela strengthens foreign trade in Forum of the Strip and the Road in China

In search of progress in the strengthening of foreign trade, the National Government, represented by the Minister of People’s Power for Economy and Finance, Simón Zerpa, participates in the second edition of the Forum of the Strip and the Road to International Cooperation, which will develop until Saturday in Beijing, China.
In the activity, Venezuela will demonstrate that, in spite of the economic and financial sanctions imposed by the United States (USA), it continues to take firm steps towards strengthening the economy, as well as cooperation and bilateral intercession with foreign nations.
“Venezuela has space not to circumvent sanctions, but to advance in its foreign trade, in its public finances, in a world different from the traditional one that the United States has tried to impose”, said Zerpa in an interview with Prensa Latina.
In relation to the Strip and the Route, an initiative aimed at the formation of an economic interconnection mechanism through the sea and land routes of silk, he ratified that Venezuela is willing to intervene actively, which is why it initiated contact with the Asian Infrastructure Bank, the base organization for the construction of the Asian proposal:
“We know that all communication, infrastructure and even oil development projects will be the ones we will take into consideration by the members of the mechanism. As a country with one of the most important oil reserves in the world, we can increase the marketing and port capacity for export to the region”, said Zerpa.
The second Forum of the Strip and the Road to International Cooperation, which began this Thursday, will be attended by 37 leaders and nearly five thousand international guests in order to advance the trade, investment and infrastructure network to connect to Asia with Europe, Africa and Europe along the historic Silk Road.
