«Here you have an outstretched hand to rectify and keep working». This was the message sent by the Chancellor of the Republic, Jorge Arreaza, to the group of countries of the European Union that acknowledged last February to the deputy of the National Assembly in contempt, Juan Guaidó, as self-proclaimed president of Venezuela.
«We want the best relationship with Europe. It hurts us when Europe puts itself at the tail of the United States», insisted the representative of Venezuelan diplomacy during an interview granted to the Anadolu Agency in Caracas, last April 15.
The EU Member States that signed the joint declaration pressing for the holding of new elections in the country, are acting, in the Venezuelan case, contrary to the spirit and philosophy of the body that is to promote peace, understanding, respect for the international law and multilateralism, as he said.
Arreaza was emphatic in pointing out that the Government of President Nicolás Maduro is open to any reflection: «Any day a country, or the entire European Union, those 24 countries that have made this mistake, want to rectify, here they will have an outstretched hand».
He cited as an example of this the case of the German Government, a country with which continue working after declaring as persona non grata to Ambassador Daniel Kriener, who assumed a political position on the issue of humanitarian aid.
