Venezuela ratifies willingness to sign cooperation agreement with FAO

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, confirmed on Tuesday his desire to sign a cooperation agreement with the world program of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO):
“I reaffirm my desire and my intention to sign a humanitarian cooperation agreement with the world food program, right now. I reaffirm my intention for the FAO World Food Program to reach Venezuela. I don’t know why the world food program takes so long”, said the head of state in a joint radio and television broadcast from Petare, Miranda state.
On October 18, the National Representative indicated that the National Government is working to develop a comprehensive agreement with FAO in order to have technical and financial assistance to meet the country’s needs in matters of alimentation, as a result of the blockade by the Government of the United States (USA).
The agreement, as detailed the President at that time, will seek to strengthen programs aimed at serving Venezuelans in food matters, such as the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP) and the School Feeding Program (PAE).
