The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, called for the national unity of all the living forces of the country, to face the onslaught of the American empire.
The message was posted on his official account on Twitter. The president urged the economic, political, cultural and social sectors to “demand the cessation of economic aggression and financial persecution against our country”.
Last Friday, the Treasury Department of the United States imposed new sanctions against the Ballito Bay Shipping and ProPer In Management companies, as well as against 34 vessels, for their links with Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA).
This new set of measures is part of the actions undertaken by the government of Washington to pressure the ousting of President Nicolás Maduro in the face of the failure of the coup plot perpetrated by the Venezuelan opposition.
