Russia rejected possible military aggression against Venezuela

The spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, denounced on Thursday the support of Western powers to the Venezuelan opposition to carry out a coup d’etat against President Nicolás Maduro Moros, as reported Hispantv:
“Juan Guaidó (deputy self-proclaimed as president and supported by the US) openly encourages the armed forces to take a military coup d’etat … we see that Western sponsors support this destructive line by all means”, said Zakharova.
In addition, she criticized US policies in Venezuela and said that they do not know interstate, economic or moral boundaries. She also warned about the threat of a “great beloved conflict” and described the situation as “extremely tense”
Zakharova confirmed that Moscow applauds the support of Latin American countries for the Venezuelan Government and its rejection of the policies and the US militarist line.
Finally, she expressed the willingness of his country to participate in a mediation to end the tensions. “Moscow is willing to join a mechanism of mediation or consultations acceptable to the Venezuelan side,” she said.
