ANC approved constituent agreement in rejection of US interventionist plans against Venezuela

The National Constituent Assembly (ANC) approved on Tuesday an agreement in rejection of the interventionist plans of the US government against Venezuela.

The document was approved unanimously by the constituents during the ordinary session led by the president of the ANC, Diosdado Cabello, from the Hemicycle of the Federal Legislative Palace, in Caracas.

In the text, read by the secretary of the entity, Fidel Vásquez, the deputies of the plenipotentiary repudiated that the US government headed by Donald Trump wants to meddle in the internal affairs of other nations, as well as the imperial threats and the illegal financial blockade of which Venezuela is the object.

“Considering that the enemies of peace and independence of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela under the direct action and promotion of the US government have developed an unprecedented diplomatic siege in our history, adding to this the actions of illegal financial and economic blockade and immoral against our country”, says the agreement.

They point out that to these actions adds the support of acts of violence against the Venezuelan people, whose purpose is to destroy the State and overthrow the constitutional and legitimate government of the Republic, through an execution of a direct military intervention plan.

Therefore, the members of the ANC agreed as a first point, to categorically reject the new interventionist plans of the US government, “whose purpose is to sow death and destruction in our homeland by our decision to follow the peaceful, democratic and constitutional way to build the political system that has as its only destination the interest and welfare of Venezuelans”.

In this regard, as the plenipotentiary power of Venezuela, they reiterate the decision to continue being guarantors of compliance with the provisions of the Constitution, ensuring the start of the constitutional period (2019-2025) of President Nicolás Maduro, as well as his oath.

“We ratify our desire for peace and dialogue to consolidate the future of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in respect to the Constitution and the laws of our nation, as well as the democratic diversity that our political system guarantees”, reads the text.

Finally, Cabello regretted the death of the constituent, Eduardo Rodríguez, who died in a traffic accident, so that those attending the session offered a minute of applause in tribute to the work he did within the ANC.
