The Vice Minister for Multilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Alexander Yánez, met on Tuesday with the permanent representative of China to the United Nations Organization (UN), Chen Xu, to strengthen diplomatic relations between the two nations.
The meeting between Yánez and Xu was held in Geneva, Switzerland, where on Monday began the 42nd session of the UN Human Rights Council, where 47 countries that make up this intergovernmental body participate and discuss issues such as the negative impact of coercive, unilateral measures, in the enjoyment of all human rights.
Venezuela and China signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement in different areas such as science and technology, oil, mining, economy, sports, health, telecommunications, among others. Both nations develop more than 500 projects. Recently, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, informed that Venezuela and China reached investments of more than 3 billion dollars in oil.
