President Maduro established 6 strategic productive regions

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, signed the decree of legal establishment of six strategic productive regions of the country, as part of the National Development Plan:

“I approve, announce and activate them as of today as part of the economy team for recovery, growth and prosperity, with six coordinators”, said the Head of State from the Teresa Carreño Theater.

In this regard, the national president announced the creation of a fund for the development of 6 regions of the country, with an investment of 20 million Petros, which is equivalent to 1,200 million dollars, as investment base of projects presented by governors and governors.

The regions are the following:

1.-North-Western, which includes Falcón, Yaracuy, Lara and Zulia states, and which promotes the agri-food, industrial, tourism engines.

2.-Central Western Plains (Apure, Barinas, Cojedes, Guárico and Portuguesa states) which promotes the agri-food engine.

3.-The Andean region, integrated by Merida, Trujillo, Táchira states and some municipalities of Barinas and Apure states, propellant of agriculture and tourism.

4.- Southeast Regions (Bolívar, Amazonas and Delta Amacuro states), with great hydroelectric, mineral wealth, agriculture and livestock potential.

5.-North-Eastern, composed of Anzoategui, Monagas, Nueva Esparta and Sucre states, with the capacity to boost the tourism engine, agriculture, fishing, industry, mining and hydrocarbons extraction.

6.-Central-Insular, formed by Aragua, Carabobo, Miranda, Vargas states, the Capital District and the Insular territories, which stands out for its tourism, cocoa production, agriculture, livestock, industrial sector, petrochemical and the development of international trade thanks to its ports.

The managers of the strategic regions are the Governors of Lara state, Carmen Meléndez; of Guárico, José Vásquez; of Trujillo, Henry Rangel Silva; of Bolívar, Justo Noguera Pietri; of Monagas, Yelitze Santaella, and of Miranda, Héctor Rodríguez.
