The President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, stressed on Thursday that Venezuela must become into an energy and diversified power, in order to achieve to overcome the oil rentier model imposed by the Governments of the Fourth Republic.
This was stated from the Puerto La Cruz refinery, located in the Sotillo municipality of Anzoátegui state, where he went to assess the advances of the Deep Conversion Project.
Regarding this project, the Head of State stressed that will allow for heavy and extra heavy crude oil, coming from the “Hugo Chavez” Orinoco Oil Strip (FPO) to be treated, converted and recovered within the refinery complex of Puerto La Cruz.
Finally he said said that this plan, which is scheduled to be inaugurated in 2018, has all the technology and scientific knowledge of Venezuelan experts, with the help of foreign entrepreneurs from China, Japan and Korea.
